This is the EdgeStar Built-In Wine Cooler featuring Dual-Zone cooling, French-Doors and holding 36-standard size bottles.
I love this cooler because it can serve as either a freestanding cooler or an undercounter cooler. It has a front vent, but features a completely finished cabinet (many undercounter units are not finished all around).
Let’s get into the details. This is a very attractive unit with its french doors, interior LED lighting, and black cabinet with stainless steel trim.
The french doors are tempered glass with black dot matrix. This keeps your wine safe from harmful UV rays or other harsh lighting. Also, both doors lock for added piece of mind.
The unit features dual zones, each side having its own electronic thermostat. The temperature range is 40-65º F and is displayed (LED display) and easily controlled on the upper outside of the unit.
To ensure even cooling, this fridge has powerful circulation fans that distribute the cool air throughout the unit.
An additional feature that this cooler offers is a carbon filter. The filter helps protect your wine against harmful odors by acting as a natural barrier.
[/vc_column_text][vc_button title=”Something to Note: It is recommended that the filter be changed every 3-6 months (depending on the units exposure to odor). You can find filters online for around $30.” target=”_self” color=”wpb_button” size=”wpb_regularsize”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
Shelving – there are 10 full depth slide out stainless steel-trimmed wooden shelves and 2 partial depth shelves (at the bottom). Each shelf holds three (3) – 750ml standard size wine bottles. We found that larger bottles do it, but they may have to staggered or capacity may decrease if you have several larger bottles (ex. Champagne, large Burgundy bottles, etc.).
Other details: the cooler weights in at 110lbs. The dimensions are 34 1/8″H x 23 1/5″W x 24 3/8″D (this is with the door handles).
Leveling legs help you keep the fridge and your wine level. It is also easy to install (just have to put on the handles really)
A couple things in the manual: You should let the unit stand for at least 24 hours before using it. This allows the cooling components to settle from its transit.
Here are some of the things that I really like about this cooler:
- It can be used as a freestanding or undercounter cooler
- It has door locks
- LED interior light to show off collection
- The stainless steel trim on wood shelving
- Dual zones
- Easy install
Only complaint: if you have a lot of larger wine bottles, you will likely not be able to house 36-bottles, but this is not really a significant problem.
